Go down to the back of this cute little delicatessen and order from the very small menu. You can have a large or small portion of everything. I think actually that they drug the chicken salad with something that makes it totally addictive.
Even though there are no windows, the woman who runs the place is lovely. It´s Highly recommended.

Not as good as the phenonomal Ban Thai up beside Hlemmur the bus station, but its cheaper.
They do a lunch with 3 things on a plate for 1,500kr and served with rice. Not too shabby.

If your really on a budget, this little 24 hour store has not a too bad salad counter and some fresh daily cooked bread. They are also selling soups and some hot wraps. When times are really tough, head there. But take care, everything else is highly over-priced.
