Description

Spend a day immersed in the beauty of Iceland's Golden Circle and see the northern lights with this 11-hour winter tour. Travelers who want to experience Iceland and visit some of its iconic Golden Circle attractions should book this tour now.

The small-group tour starts at noontime, as you get picked up by a minibus from your hotel or at a nearby meeting point in Reykjavik.

This sightseeing tour has two parts. The first part includes visiting the Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss waterfall, while the second leg is hunting for Iceland's beautiful northern lights.

Moreover, this is an easy-level Golden Circle tour, as there are no strenuous hikes or taxing areas you will visit. Also, an English-speaking and fully certified guide will be with you throughout.

The first place you will visit is the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park is famous for its geological wonders and historical contribution to Iceland. Iceland's historical parliament, the Althingi, was founded in Thingvellir.

Your next stop is at the Geysir geothermal area, filled with geysers and hot springs. Its famous geyser, the Great Geysir, stopped spouting water years ago, but you can check the nearby Strokkur geyser, which erupts every five to 10 minutes.

Your last stop for the first part of the tour is the Gullfoss waterfall, which is 105 feet (32 meters) high. You can witness approximately 358 cubic feet (109 cubic meters) of water surging from its cliff in two tiers.

After visiting Gullfoss waterfall, the guide will drop you off in Reykyavik, where you'll have time for dinner at a restaurant or your hotel.

At around 20:30, the bus will pick you up again and drive the group to a secret spot, best for seeing the northern lights.

The northern lights, or the aurora borealis, is a beautiful display of glittering and waving lights—the natural phenomenon results from charged sun particles interacting with the Earth's magnetic field.

Your guide will take free photos of you as you marvel over the northern lights. You can take these images home to remember the experience and show your friends.

Should you fail to see the northern lights, you'll have the chance to go on this part of the tour again for free.

After a fantastic day of adventure, you will return to your hotel or a nearby drop-off place in Reykjavik.

Experience this fantastic winter tour, which explores Iceland's top Golden Circle attractions, and end the experience with a northern lights viewing. Check availability now by choosing a date.
