Description

Come with us and search for the Northern lights with an experienced guide and photographer. This is a private, customised tour for individuals or small groups who want to enjoy the Aurora Borealis in private surroundings.

The vehicles that we offer are for 4, 6 or 10 people, comfortable 4WD  Toyotas or a luxury mini-bus. Your guide is an experienced Northern lights hunter with the thorough local knowledge of where the best chances of sightings are according to the cloud formations and level of activity of the Northern lights.

The tour begins with a pickup at 20.30 at your hotel pick up point or place of stay. You do not have to wait outside at a bus stop, we will come to the door of your address, wherever possible. We then head out of Reykjavík to where the best chances are of sightings of the Northern lights and out of the way of other groups and tour buses.

The average driving distance on our Northern lights tours is between 35-70 km out of Reykjavík, but if we think our chances are greater by driving further, we will gladly do so if you agree. The tour can last between 3-5 hours, most often we are back in Reykjavík before 01.00 am.

Our guide is an experienced photographer, and part of our service is to take a good photo of you with the Northern lights in the background. He will also provide any assistance if you are keen to take your own beautiful pictures. We will find some great secluded spots for photography where there is no one else and no lights on the ground that might spoil your view of the Northern lights and the stars.

During the tour, you will be served hot chocolate or tea and pastries which is a great local treat on a cold starry night. Remember that we are in Iceland and that it´s winter so be sure to dress warmly to get the most out of your tour.

Don't wait, join us and marvel at this amazing phenomena during your holiday in Iceland. Check availability by choosing a date.
