Description

Marvel at incredible sea creatures and wildlife with this express two-hour whale-watching tour in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) from Dalvik. This tour allows nature and wildlife enthusiasts to see porpoises, dolphins, puffins, seals, and whales, all from the safety of a small speedboat.

The tour departs from the village of Dalvik, North Iceland. The tour runs every day from April to October, weather permitting. When you arrive at the harbor, staff will check you in and lead you to a dressing room. You’ll receive a set of overalls and a life jacket to keep you warm and safe.

You’ll be traveling in cold open waters at high speeds, with cold winds blowing around you. Dress appropriately in warm, waterproof clothing.

When you’re dressed and ready to go, you’ll climb aboard the RIB, which has the horsepower to carry you and the other participants out to sea at top speeds. Your guide will take you to locations where you’re most likely to see whales and other sea creatures.

Although you’ll be traveling at high speeds, the boat ride will be comfortable thanks to its suspension seats. These seats are comfortable and use anti-shock technology, which protects your safety and maximizes comfort.

This express tour lets you get up close and personal with some of the world’s most majestic creatures. The tour will initially take you on a journey through the breathtaking landscape of the Eyjafjordur fjord. You’ll pass a beautiful mountain range, so have your camera ready.

As you travel further from the land, you’ll have more chance of seeing whales. The most common whales in this area are humpback whales, but you can also see minke whales and white-beaked dolphins. You might even be lucky enough to see rare animals like blue whales and orcas.

Iceland is home to about half of the world’s Atlantic puffin population, so you can expect to see their colonies during a summer tour. Puffin season typically occurs between April 15 and August 15 each year.

After enjoying the spectacular landscape views and hopefully seeing a few puffins and whales, your captain and tour guide will take you on a final ride around North Iceland’s waters. You’ll then return to Dalvik to disembark the boat and end the tour.

Nature is unpredictable. If you aren't fortunate enough to see aquatic mammals such as dolphins, porpoises, or whales during your tour, your guide will give you a complimentary ticket to enjoy another ride.

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to look at Arctic sea life up close and in its natural habitat during a whale-watching RIB tour from Dalvik. Check availability now by choosing a date.
